An alt rock/psychedelic artist, based in Glasgow, Kev Howell began his solo project in 2017. His debut album, ‘Haunting Ambition’ and EP, ‘Snipers Blues’ were independently launched, that same year. The debut single, ‘Kamikaze’ was positively reviewed by Indiepulse, in 2019 and chosen as a feature, by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Currently, Kev is releasing material on his own independent label, November Records. His new single, ‘Arrows’, was launched on June 19th, 2020 and was premiered on BBC Introducing. Kev’s music continues to receive positive industry acclaim. The track ‘Ode To An Angel’ hit 4K+ streams, closely followed by other tracks already out.

Bands/artists he’s supported, to date, include: John Power, Ben Ottewell, Bill Ryder-Jones, The Glorious Sons, Bang Bang Romeo and Red Rum Club.

Arrows – Sleek, slide riff intro, with a bluesy touch and a psychedelic intro. Very natural alt vocals, melodious and capable. Smooth delivery, flowing, fluidly, through bluesy moods. Good, noticeable vocal edge. Easy rhythm, quite B.O.C.-esque sound, with a fading feel and a strong focus on the simplicity of the moment. Easing, effortlessly, into the outro. It’s the sound of an intuitive artist, executing the track easily, with feeling.

8/10 ********
