Inviting you into the darkest realms, ‘Where Shadows Lie’ is the debut single, from folk metal duo, Forgotten Shrine.
Spookily pre-empting the name of the end credits track, on 2022 film, ‘Rings Of Power’, Josh had already composed and commenced producing FS’s track of the same title. He had, however, written its central hook, in his teens, followed by multi-instrumental exploration with the entire song.
Josh and Sofia met online, in 2021, rapidly creating a signature brand of mediaeval folk, they called ‘bardcore’, evolving into FS, by late 2023.
Inspired by such glittering bands as Nightwish, Eluveitie and Avenged Sevenfold, as well as film and game soundtracks and traditional pagan and folk music, ‘WSL’ is out now.

Where Shadows Lie – Booming tribal drum beats and instant enchantment, in a realm of forests and ancient Celtic sounds. Great vocal duet, entwining melodic and blackened styles. Such ethereal atmospherics, truly embodying that title. Electric riffs and a world of alternative accompaniments, all conveyed via first-rate production levels. Here, the volume magically enhances the complete package of wondrous metallic folklore, epically delivered, with startling power, taking you right to the heart of the action.
